Different production scopes
ElevenLabs presents text to speech, multi-speaker dialogue, voice cloning, and a large voice library. Its Studio supports imported documents, chapter exports, and video and caption work. Those are reasons to use it when a production needs more voices or a full media workspace.
TTS Lines focuses on one task: paste a script, edit its lines, choose speakers, and download audio. The free local voice models run in your browser. It has fewer voice choices and no voice cloning.
What happens when one line changes
In TTS Lines, edit the line, regenerate it, and download that clip or a new full recording. That is useful when a video cut changes one callout. ElevenLabs Studio also documents paragraph and word regeneration, so correcting a section is not unique to TTS Lines.
The difference to test is the whole workflow: first load, voice choice, correction, and the file your editor needs. A bigger voice library may outweigh a lighter local editor for your script.
A fair trial
Use the same two-speaker, three-line script in both. Check whether the tone, pronunciation, and export shape suit your project. We have not run a controlled sound or speed comparison, and subscription features can change.
